Updates on COVID-19 & Online Orientation for the Storrs Campus
October 20, 2020
ANNOUNCEMENTS: Storrs Campus Undergraduate Orientation Online for Spring 2021 Entering Students
Due to the ongoing situation with Covid-19, Orientation will continue to be online for all students entering UConn in spring 2021.
The online Orientation program takes all new undergraduate students through a 2-part module that covers important university information, support services, and presentations that are important to a new student’s transition to UConn. The module also contains academic and pre-advising information that will prepare students to meet with an academic advisor to register for classes. There are two parts, Part A and Part B, to the online Orientation module.
After completing all sections of the online module students will be given direction on how to connect with an academic advisor in their school or college to register for fall semester classes. Students cannot register for classes until they have completed online Orientation.
NOTE: All first-time degree-seeking students at the University of Connecticut are required to complete the online Orientation module in order to meet with an academic advisor and register for classes.
Online Orientation for spring students will open in mid-November. At that time new students will receive an email invitation sent to both their personal and UConn email addresses telling them to complete online Orientation if they paid the $300 enrollment deposit.
New students will not be able to schedule an appointment to meet with an academic advisor to register for classes without having completed both part of the online Orientation program. There are no exceptions to this university Orientation requirement no matter what the student’s semester standing is.
